Allie Mae Russell 98 Of Larslan Montana

October 23, 1923 — April 6, 2022

Allie Mae Russell, age 98, of Larslen, MT, on April 6, 2022, started a journey for a  joyous reunion in heaven with her parents, her two sons, nine siblings and many other family members and friends.

Allie was born October 23, 1923 in Glasgow, MT, the fifth child of eleven children, to Harry and Pansy Squires of Baylor, MT. She attended grade school at the Wild Rose School at Baylor and attended high school in Opheim and then St. Thomas Convent in Great Falls.  She went to college at Northern Montana at Havre, and taught grades 1-8 in North Valley County for a few years. Allie worked as a waitress, ticket clerk, as “Rosie the Riveter” for the Douglas Aircraft Company, Long Beach, CA., for 90 cents an hour, during World War II;  a teacher, ranch cook and wife and retired from Mountain States Telephone after 35 plus years of service.  She was the news reporter for North Valley County for many years and published in the Glasgow Courier.

Allie married first to Frank Gall of San Diego where their son, William Bernard “Bill” Gall was born.  They divorced and Allie and Bill returned to Montana.  Allie married Reuben Fuhrmann in Glasgow, where their son Ron was born. They later divorced.

In a very nasty spring dust storm, in 1984, a woman volunteering for the Valley County Combined Campaign knocked on Stan Russell’s door for a donation.  He says he’s been paying ever since as he married the volunteer, Allie, on February 14, 1985 in Glasgow.  Over the years they have enjoyed traveling Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and Grand Canyon, Nevada’s Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas, California, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Alaska, Australia and New Zealand.

Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Stanley Russell; her daughter-in-law, Peggy Fuhrman of Whitefish, MT; three grandchildren: Rebecca (Andy) Groebner of Eagan, MN, Jamie (Gary) Wurtzberger of Burnsville, MN, and Cody Fuhrman of Eagan, MN; her great-grandsons: Kellan Groebner, of Eagan, MN, and Bryce and Brax Wurtzberger, of Burnsville, MN;  her sister, Patricia Mueller of Great Falls, MT,  and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held June 11, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Glentana, MT.  Bell Mortuary is in charge of cremation arrangements and interment will be at the Glentana Cemetery.
