Jake Schweigert, Jr. of Glasgow, MT died April 25, 2016 at Faith Nursing Home in Wolf Point, MT. He was born May 30, 1940 in Harlan, KY to Jake and Virgie (Tipton) Schweigert.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 6th at Bell Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Ashbaucher officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Samatha, Taylor and Tyler Schweigert.
Jake was a long time resident of Glasgow, MT. He worked for Markles and Oakland’s TV and Appliance. He owned Schweigert’s Appliance repair and J & C Auto in Glasgow.
Jake had many interests. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a good marksman and liked to do taxidermy. He was a self-taught saddle and tack maker and enjoyed painting and art.
He is survived by his mother, Virgie Schweigert of Wolf Point; sister, Reney (Bob) Carter of Glasgow; children, Darrell Schweigert of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchell (Julie) Schweigert of Miles City, Lori (Perry) Hinton of New Carlisle, Indiana, Les Schweigert; daughter-in-law, Jenny Schweigert; grandkids, Samatha, Taylor and Tyler of Fargo, North Dakota; nephews, Steve Carter and his family of San Diego, California, Gary Carter and Shawn Carter of Billings.
Jake is preceded in death by his father, Jake Schweigert, Sr.; Diane (Susag) Schweigert; and niece, Susan Kay Carter.
