Leo Ludwig Murr, 87, of Glasgow, Montana, peacefully passed away on October 2, 2019 at Prairie Ridge Village.
Leo was born in Flaxville, Montana to Ludwig J. and Viola C. (Linder) Murr on November 24, 1931. He attended school in Wheeler and Glasgow, Montana. He married Margaret C. Wagar on October 12 th , 1954 at the St Raphael’s Parish in Glasgow. He worked as a lineman for Valley Rural Electric for 37 years. The union of their marriage blessed them with five children: Gwen, Leo, Trent, Valerie, and Kent. Leo was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the St Raphael’s Parish for many years.
Leo will be remembered for his kind eyes and big smile. He loved to play pinochle and was crowned the winner and held the trophy amongst his friends often. He loved homemade baked goods. He never missed a sporting event, especially when it came to his grandchildren’s sports. He loved fishing, camping, horseback riding and going to church every week. He loved his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; it brought joy to his life when they would come to visit.
Leo is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Margaret of 61 years; son, Trent; granddaughter, Amy Murr; son-in-law, Curtis Johnson; brother, Anton Murr; sister, Nona Jimison, and parents Ludwig and Viola Murr.
Leo is survived by his sisters Beatrice Johnson and Shirley (Leroy) Siefert; kids, Gwen (Dean) Hawkins, Leo (Diane) Murr, Valerie (Chuck) Barstad, and Kent Murr; grandkids Angela, Travis, Lisa, Tony, Joseph, Chris, Nate, Kylan, Kristi, and Susan; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Monday, October 7, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bell Mortuary, Funeral Mass will be Tuesday October 8, 2019 10:00 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church with burial in Highland Cemetery
