Lita Kay Olson 58 Of Richland Montana

February 10, 1965 — June 8, 2023

Lita Kay Olson passed away on June 8, 2023, at the Billings Clinic Hospital.  She was born on February 10, 1965, to Delroy and Annabelle Brackee.

She shared a birthday with her Grandpa Earl and there were many photos of them together. Grandpa carried a picture in his wallet of Lita. As a child, she was mischievous and fun and loved watermelon.

Lita always had a need for speed.  As a child, she quickly figured out how to ride the Honda 70 motorcycle her Grandpa Earl won.  Grandpa would set her on the motorcycle and she would ride and ride. When she was done, she would race past the farmhouse and beep twice to let them know she was ready for someone to catch her to help her off the motorcycle since her feet would not touch the ground.

Throughout high school, she also rode four-wheelers.  Her first car was a 1974 Dodge Charger.  She loved that car and there were many instances of gravel flying as she left the farm.

She graduated in 1984 from Peerless High School where she played Panther basketball and was the only girl of 7 students in the graduating class.

After high school, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and then to Wisconsin where she met Richard Olson.  The couple were married in 1988.   Together they raised four children.  Throughout their 33 years of marriage, they moved around but finally returned to the family farm after the death of her mother.

Throughout her life, she had a variety of jobs including working at the PN Ranch in Montana, locally: she was a CNA, cook, custodian, and housekeeper at the DC hospital, as well as a cook at the DC Bowling Alley.   She always came back to cooking as she loved it and was good at it.  She made cookies for everyone.  Her love of cooking also led to other favorite hobbies of gardening and canning.

She doted on her grandkids and loved having them to spoil.  She loved to tell stories about her time with the grandkids and shared photos with everyone.

After the death of her husband of 33 years, she reunited with her high school crush, Darvin Weidner.  In their short time together they worked in the garden and did a lot of canning as well as rode snowmobiles.

Lita lived life at full speed. She always had a dimpled smile and looked for ways to have fun. She loved fiercely and played hard.

Lita is survived by her sons, Chantz (Kortney) and Chase (Sam); step-son, Ricci (Carla) and step-daughter, Andrea (Mike) Sattler; fourteen grandkids; brother, Keith; sister, Rita; and her significant other Darvin Weidner.
