Roger John Brookie

Roger John Brookie of Saco/Opheim MT passed away on Feb. 8, 2025 of natural causes at the age 72.

 He is survived by his wife Barbara of 52 years and daughters, Shara (Jonny) Brookie of Billings and Laura Brookie of Harlem. Grandchildren Randall (Topanga) Brookie of Havre and Amber Chance-Brookie of Billings. 

 Roger is the oldest child of John Kinnier Brookie and Mary Jane Kaasa. Born in Glasgow on Nov. 4, 1952. His siblings are Katherine Boldt of Glendive, Hugh (Janeen) Brookie of Beaverton, Linda Brookie of Hinsdale, Brother-in-law Moris Carlson of Great Falls, Jay (Marcy) of Roundup, Kenneth Ketchum of Hinsdale. Nieces and nephews Anothony, Kristopher, Louis, Joseph (Bridget), Matthew, Amanda, Ryan (Cesilee), Jeremy, Kurtis (Anjeanette), Angela, Wyatt, Weston, Cadence, Michael and numerous great nieces and nephews.

 Roger is preceded in death by his father John, little sister Marie Carlson, father and mother in-laws Herman and Ann Kuebler and stepfather Sam Ketchum.

 Special mention to Steven Morris, Heather at MSU, Ronald Larson, and all those at MT Seed Growers and farmers that made his summers enjoyable. 

 Roger was proudest he graduated from MSU Bozeman with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and used and built on that knowledge throughout his life and worked with MT Seed Growers Association of MSU. President of CSEA for 3 years and Regional Rep for the State of California for 2 years. Retired from FCUSD in 2004. 

 Roger was a jack of all trades and helped others when needed and an avid reader. 

 A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring in Saco and will be published with this publisher.
