Sandra Lee Thompson, 68, of Glasgow went to be with Jesus on June 12, 2017.
Sandra was born in San Antonio, Texas to Norman and Billie (Franks) Porter on December 16, 1948. She had four sisters: Kellie, Kathy, Kristy, and Kimberly and a brother Kirk. Her father was in the Army at the time of her birth, but after his discharge the family moved to Tacoma, Washington. Sandra grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1967.
She married Jerry Henning and they had two children; Nicholas and Tamara. They later divorced and in 1986 Sandra married Terry Thompson and they had 31 great years together.
Sandra loved working with elderly people. She worked as a social worker for two nursing homes in Tacoma, WA. Then she managed two different assisted living buildings in Puyallup and Lakewood, WA. She was a Stephen minister (a lay person who serves a friend to other) and has worked with the Alzheimer’s Association for many years.
Sandra was an avid traveler, she traveled all over this great country that she loved so much. She loved going to the ocean to camp. She could be found watching her favorite football team the Seattle Sea Hawks.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Terry; son, Nicholas Henning of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Tamara Henning of Billings, Montana; sister-in-law Judy Thompson of Puyallup, Washington; three step-children, Scott (Kim) of Roy, Washington, Janet (Tony) of Fresno, California and Doug (Michelle) of Tacoma, Washington; nine grandchildren: Angel, Christian, Brett, Katie, Kellie, Morgan, Makia, Miranda and Mariah; eight great-grandchildren: Terrek, Kiyler, Autumn, Rylin, Bentley, Isabella, Killian and Tyler.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow, Montana. Condolences may be made at bellmortuarymontana.com.
