Wesley L. Burg, 86, of Glasgow, Montana, passed away June 8 th , 2019, in Malta, Montana of natural causes. Wesley Lester Burg was born September 13, 1932 in Jasper, Minnesota to Lester and Alma (Handberg) Burg. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1950 and then enlisted in the army during the Korean conflict.
Wes married Marlyss Berge on August 30, 1958. He was half owner of B & D Machine in Los Angeles, California, where they machined aircraft parts. Later they moved to Oregon where they owned a tavern, then onto Glasgow, Montana; where he worked at the air force base until its closure. He then worked at the packing plant until its closure, and finally the Corps of Engineers.
Wes was an avid hunter and fisherman; walleye and perch were his favorites. He participated in all of the first 20 Montana Governor’s Cups. He also enjoyed his pets through the years.
Survivors include one son, Dave (Mary) Burg, Williston, ND; one daughter Jana (Scott) Moran, Malta, Montana; four grandsons: Trent (Shandy) Moran, Scobey, Montana; Conor Moran, Malta, Montana; Seth Burg, Fargo, North Dakota; and Jared Burg, Williston, North Dakota. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marlyss; his parents; and four sisters, infant Dorothy Burg, Lona Walvatne, Lois Jansma and Beth Parks.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, Montana. Burial with Military Honors at Highland Cemetery.
