Yvonne “Tillie” Cox-Hopkins our beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, Montana. She was born July 24, 1931 to Joseph and Julia (Grandchamp) Cox at home in Frazer, Montana.
Tillie attended school in Frazer, Montana, then she went on to cosmetology school in Chicago. She also worked at Johnnie Café for numerous years as a cook and waitress. Tillie was a very accomplished seamstress. She taught herself to make star blankets which she hand sewed because she said they looked better. She made many afghans, doilies, tablecloths, and aprons. She enjoyed sewing and had a natural eye for blending colors. She was a wiz at crossword puzzles, word finds and Lottery scratch off tickets. She loved bingo and playing solitaire even with cards that were curled up, she said the older the better then she would give you her laugh. She had four husbands, which Floyd Hopkins was her last one and the true lover of her life which the feeling was mutual. She had a very good sense of humor which was infectious. Everyone loved her at Nemont Manor in Glasgow and Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point where she kept them amused with her stories. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone.
Tillie is survived by her daughters Julianna Ackerman, Debra Cantrell, Carole (Ross) Nimrod, and Robin Cox; sons Michael (Earlene) Ackerman, twins Rex and Ray Cox, Ricky Gives, Richard Cox, Jeffery Cox and Randy Cox; brother Ed (Marilyn) Cox; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous special nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Lillie Cox.
Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; parents Joe and Julia (Grandchamp) Cox; sisters Lenora Red Elk, Loretta Adams, Genevive Cox and Darlene Cox; brothers Joseph JR. Arlee, Julius, Nelson, Melvin, Raymond, Alvin and Donald Cox and son Parker.
Tillie was much loved and will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
